Getting-Started Shopping List for Your HOTLOGIC® Portable Oven

Are you as excited as we are to start shopping for HOTLOGIC® cooking ingredients?

Before you head out, we also recommend checking out our Tips and Tricks post as well for additional info on foods that do and do not work well with our ovens.

What Should I Buy for Cooking from Scratch?
Many meals that our users love are simple combinations of a favorite protein and vegetable, along with a prepared sauce or seasoning mix. If your diet allows, adding pre-cooked grains or pre-cooked pasta to the mix makes for delicious results.

Grocery List Go-To Items Include:

Raw foods that can be cooked fresh in your HOTLOGIC® like:

  • Raw meats: chicken, fish, sausage, and beef (note that beef willcook to well-done, or 165° F without a sear)
  • Raw vegetables, such as broccoli, green beans, or peppers

Ready-cooked items like:

  • Minute rice
  • Pre-cooked pasta
  • Other pre-cooked grains

Frozen items, such as:

  • Frozen vegetables
  • Frozen meatballs
  • Frozen chicken wings
  • Frozen pastas (i.e. stuffed tortellini or ravioli)

Seasonings and sauces:

  • Taco seasoning
  • Salt-free seasoning blends
  • Spice and herb blends
  • Pasta sauce
  • Alfredo sauce
  • Salsa
  • Barbeque sauce
  • Marinades

When cooking with fresh meat and vegetables, allow 1-2 hours for your meat to fully cook. For frozen, allow 2+ hours.

*Always use a meat thermometer to verify that meat has reached an internal temperature of 165° F.

Which Are the Best Frozen Meals to Buy?

Your HOTLOGIC® portable oven will heat your favorite frozen meals beautifully. It’s as easy as placing the store-bought package right onto the oven’s heating element – without even having to take it out of the box!

  • If you have a HOTLOGIC® Mini, look for individual frozen meals in packages that fit within the maximum 8.75" W x 6.75" L x 2.5 H" dimensions.
  • Family-sized frozen meals up to up to 9" W x 13" L x 3.75" will fit in our larger HOTLOGIC® Max, and are an easy way to make sure dinner is ready when you are.

No matter the size, there’s no need to vent, slit, or stir since the package is placed directly inside as-is. Once you’ve had a frozen meal heated in a HOTLOGIC®, you’ll never want to use the microwave again!

Anything I Should Avoid?

Some raw foods need to be pre-cooked before adding them into your HOTLOGIC® oven, such as:

  • Raw potatoes
  • Raw carrots
  • Raw pasta and rice

 Other items to avoid:

  • Beef meant to be cooked to any temperature other than well-done.

And because your HOTLOGIC® oven safely stops heating at 165℉, baking is not one of its uses, so those ingredients are not generally needed.

And there you have it! If you have any recipes you love to make in your HOTLOGIC® that you’d like to share, we’d love to hear about it! Please send us an email with your story (and you may even be featured in future HOTLOGIC® deliciousness). Happy shopping, friend!
